SCDNR Certified Saltwater Fishing Instructor Training

Want to share your saltwater fishing skills with the next generation of anglers? Become a Certified Saltwater Fishing Instructor! We're looking for volunteers ages 18 years and older to help and/or lead saltwater fishing clinics and participate in SCDNR fishing related outreach programs. These programs include:

Saltwater Fishing Clinics: Volunteers lead/co-lead saltwater fishing clinics from shore, docks, piers, or the surf.

Walk the Pier/Dock Program: Volunteers walk designated fishing piers/docks answering fishing related questions, relaying SCDNR best fishing practices and passing out SCDNR fishing related publications.

Assist with Youth Fishing Tournaments and Youth Fishing Rodeos

Assist with outreach events such as the Palmetto Sportsman's Classic, fishing shows, and the monofilament recycling program.

Volunteers from all along the South Carolina coast are welcome. We provide training, supplies and support. Volunteers are required to participate in this training in order to volunteer with this program. Please sign up to take this in-person instructor training class. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with more information.

Details for the program are below:

-You must take the instructor training course offered by SCDNR

-You must pass a SLED background check

-You must participate in at least 2 fishing events a year
